Tutorial for Die Cut Ribbon Bookmark

Lately I have had lots of questions about this bookmark and how it was made, so i have decided to do a little tutorial for it - you can do it with any shape you like really!

you will need: Length of Ribbon, 4 Die Cut shapes and embelishments of your choice

Start by sticking one end of the ribbon to the back of one of the die cuts

cover the die cut with glue, i like to go right up to the edges then it wont peel apart, my fave tool for this is a fine tip glue bottle that i fill with PVA glue

It is great and has a really fine tip on it and soooo economical!

pop your next die cut shape on top of the glue so that your ribbon is sandqiched snugle between the 2 layers
Repeat this for the other end of the ribbon using the other 2 shapes

It should look like this

When decorating make sure you decorate the 2 top surfaces when the ribbon is laid out flat

add your embellishments and taa daa!!

you can decorate them any way you like, i have used a Martha Stewart Punch to decorate mine and some liquid pearls to decorate so they are not too puffy to go inside a book

Would love to see what you make if you have a go

Hugs

Great tutorial. is the 2nd butterfly supposed to hang at the bottom of the book when closed or go between the pages? i'm just wondering how decorated and 3D it could be!
