Valentines Card Idea :: Sizzix Love Card with Felt Heart

I am really pleased with this card, it is very ME!
and it is made using only 2 dies!

For the 2 smaller hearts i have used Sizzix Medium Doodle Dies Hearts Die, this has been discontinued i believe but there are so many hearts out there these days you can easily find an alternative!!
I have cut them from black felt and some corregated kraft looking card that i had a christmas bath set packaged in - as soon as i saw it i thought that will look fab on cards!

the love and the large red heart are both cut using the same die, it is a new Sizzix die - Phrase I Love You I had to have it as soon as a saw it and thiswas the design i had in mind!!

Valentines Card Idea :: Using Paperchase Heart Stickers

It's not long now til V-day and in our house V-day is extra special as it is Mr Fairy's Birthday too!! So i thought this week i will do a valentines card each day in the hope that it inspires you to make one for your nearest and dearest!

The stickers are from paperchase and i got 2 cards from the one pack, there are a few left but they are too big for this card design so they will have to wait until inspiration strikes i am afraid!

I have used the 2 largest Square dies from the nestabilities large squares set for the mats (I am rubbish with a paper trimmer so these are perfect for me!!) and the punched squares (using an Xcut nesting punch) fit neatly inside these

My top tip for these is to use a little PVA glue that way if the squares are not quite striaght you have a bit of time to move them around a bit!!

Embossing Folders, A few little observations and somthing to look out for!

I just wanted to give you a little update on all things embossing, I noticed the toher day that Sizzix have made some fab changes to some of the newer embossing folders, on the one in the photo above (not the easiest things to take photos of!) that they have started making some folders with one side slightly smaller than the other - the result, well when you emboss a whole card there are no more embossed lines from the edge of the folder! Yay!

The second set of folders i looked at, again Sizzix are slightly different but with the same result. These have a beveled edge so the edge is thinner than the rest meaning you can place these little folders anywhere you want on the card with no markings!

Last of all i picked up this embossing folder in Hobbycraft, its a Do crafts one but had a fab free gift!

I like the way the design is printed on the folder, makes it much easier to find the one you are looking for

And this is a pic of the free gift, in each pack there are 2 sheets of core'dinations card and a little square of sandpaper, not sure if you were meant to get 2 packs or if i was just lucky!!

Sorry if i am teacing you to suck eggs, I hope this was useful to some of you!

Bundles of Cards / Notelets Make a Great Quick Gift...

These little bundles of cards were made as a quick little token gift, they go down really well and if you keep the designs simple they can be used for almost any occasion!

I have bundled a few cards and envelopes together and tied them with a pretty ribbon

You could even make a little punched paper band to go around them instead!

WOYWW :: I have dug out my Big Shot Pro, sorted my scraps and spent a few pennies....

I had to dig out my BSP last night for a project I am working on, I struggle so much for space in my room (shouln't moan its my own fault!!) that i often store things on my BSP so digging it out was quite a challenge!

I also have some stickers on my desk, I have taken proper pics of them ratherthan the pile they were in!! Some new ones from Paperchase that my Mum sent me, we don't have one up here so she pops in now and again for me!

And these which were 29p in home bargains!! they had some other designs and the alphas in a few different colours too!

I have also had a rather ruthless sort out of my scraps, I am a horder and keep every last scrap so i have gone through and chopped them into neat pieces and thrown away anything that is really too small!

They are now organised into colours in poly pockets which i think will be easier!
I want to set a few scrap challenges soon too!!

So... WOYWW??

Large Name Card Made Using Cricut & Don Jaun

I thought we would have a few more piccys today, there have not been enough, in my opinion, of late!

I love these cards, there are so many nice papers out there that no 2 look the same and they always go down a storm when i am asked to make one!

This one had a horse theme, slightly!

I like to use a heavy PP and love the ones with clitter on them, my cricut cuts them like a dream and the give some extra sparkle!

I get through that many little foam pads it is unreal!! I always try to stock up on them if i see them cheap!

the card is A4 folded lengthways and the font is Don Jaun, my fave font for these cards! The little Horseshoe is an old QK die!

Welcome Baby Willow Card

I am not too happy with the photos of this card, my camera seems to be playing up a little bit and the dark conitions don't help, I go to work in the dark and come home in the dark so needless to say i take my photos in the dark too!!

The elephant punch is from Martha Stewart and the dies used are Nestabilities Labels 8, my fave nesties dies!
Papers are all from the DCWV Nursery range

I have moved my printer this week as i seem to be using it a little more so am going to try and do a few more cards with some printed words on... Watch this space!!

So Sorry.... Such a Neglected Blog!!

Hello Bloggers, just a quick post to say how sorry i am that my blog has been so neglected this week!!
Sometimes life just takes over!! Work has been hectic this week and where I would have normally been home for 5pm i have been going to the gym striaght from work and not getting in until almost 7pm, then there is dinner to cook and general things to do and I have just let crafting and blogging pass me by this week! This week I have also had ebay items to wrap and post (they all went off to the post office this morning!) and have also joined Weight Watchers!! If there are any other WW out there do get in touch i could do with a diet buddy!!
I am so glad it is the weekend and i have realy been looking forward to it!! I have a couple of new sizzix dies to play with so plan to get some valentines ideas underway!
I just wanted to let you know i was still alive really!! I will be back later with something crafty!

Shopping Bag Sunday!!!

My stash diet and food diet are going as bad as each other really!!
I am not on a total stash ban, i have given myself £20 per month for essentials, but after seeing Tim's releases for Sizzix at CHA i think there may be a couple of months when i may loosen my belt, but dies are tools, and tools last forever right?!
As for the food diet i have sever dates with the gym this week straight from work (arrrghh) and am thinking that i may even go an sign up for a weight watchers meeting so someone can kick my ass every week!!
Anyway, the shopping bag! Well this year as things just seem so hectic with the gym and work and life in general I am going to try and replace the sweets sued in my gifts with other things so a) I can not eat them and b) if i don't get round to using them they will keep and i wont have to eat them!!

So i found these in home bargains, not that clear at first glance what is in them but when i picked it up and gave it a shake i could see there were 10 little individually wrapped bath bombs in there - great for valentines i thought and only 99p, for all my thrifty readers you can unthread and keep the satin ribbon too!

I then popped into Hobbycraft (next door to home bargains) and found this roll of self adhesive velvety stuff that is fab for die cutting and i think it will punch too!! A metre of it for 1.49 seemed like a bargain with valentines day on the horizon!

They also had in the new valentines isle these cute wooden words, great for decorating and only £1.79 each which i thought was good, i plan to do a couple as a little extra for my stall this Christmas!!

Well that's it in the bag for this week, its doubling up as a post bag as i start wrapping the things that have sold so far from my eBay auctions and my pre-loved crafts page!

Crafty Clear out stuff reduced!!

Just a little note to say that i have reduced some of my craft clear out things to make some room for me to add some more at the weekend!! (see the pre loved page at the top)
I also have lots of items on ebay ending soon too!! (Just click the link on the right)

Birthday Card Using K&Co and Go Kreate Dies

Not my normal colours but I am liking the way it came out!!
The papers and the Embellies are from the K&Co Poppy Seeds Range, which i fell in love with when i saw them in hobbycraft so came home and found a reasonable price online!!!!

The lable style die cut is done with a Go Kreate XL Frame die (the card is A5 size - my fave size at the mo) and the die cut letters are a Tim Holtz Decorative Strip die called Chip Block

WOYWW :: Uh Oh it's a mess AGAIN!!

I have come to the conclusion that I just can not keep things tidy!!
I can make a good hour of tidying in under 15 min, what a talented crafter I am!!

You will notice in the photo above a little crate full of bits i have claimed over christmas from packets and pressies and cards, that i intend to do some projects with!!
