Christmas Cards Made Using a Metal Embossing Stencil in a Die Cutting Machine

Yesterday I nipped into Hobbycraft and treated myself to this little metal stencil from Papermania's new Christmas Range!
As soon as i saw it I thought oooohhh that would liik nice with twinkling gems on it!

I am no "Dry Embosser" so i used my die cutting machine to emboss it, if you like the idea of that pop back later as i am putting together a tutorial on this for Big Shot and Cuttlebug users

On this card I have swooshed over the embossed image with an ink pad to make it pop a little

I am not a traditional christmas girl really, i just love the candy coloured christmas ranges

The striped backing paper is from craft work cards and the pink snowflake papers are from the new dovecraft range, Christmas Fancy and they were from Crafts U Love

My next card was just left white, i do love this effecr with embossing folders and it worked just a well with the stencil, it was such a hard to photograph i just hope you can make out the embossed image!

Background papers are again from Craft Work Cards and Crafts U Love and i have used a Fiskars border punch in a snowflake design on the green background strip.

The gems were from a mixed collection mainly nail gems in 2 sizes

The greetings are peel offs, Helen if your reading, i know i moan about how much i hate peel offs but there were glittery and i actually quite like them!!!!

I hope you like the cards and if you have any dusty old embossing stencils buried in your craft room, quickly go dust them off and pop back for my tutorial!

Hugs

Hi Lisa ..... I got that stencil last week from Gardenlands and I am blogging it tomorrow!!!! Great minds BUT I didn't realise I needed an impressions mat to use it on my BIGSHOT so I was really disappointed with the result. Can you to tell me if there is anything I can use to save me buying an mat? But I may copy you if I may and ink it cos I love your candy coloured tree.

Hi Lisa, I'm a newish card maker with lots to learn! I just found your blog I have been reading it all for hours now! How do you 'swooshed over the embossed image' without getting ink smudged on the background paper?? I have the same stencil.
