You may notice a few changes around here - my "used-to-be-in-the-top-five-of-uk-craft-blogs" blog has been very much neglected lately
Lots of things have taken over, good things like lots of demoing and being with the ones you love, coupled with sad things like redundancy, tough times and depression - 2014 has been a pretty tough year in our household but I think we are slowly getting through the other side and I know there is over 2 months of the year left but i think it is safe to say that Rob and I will be glad to see the back of 2014!!!
So today I did the job that I have been putting off for weeks - the blog tidy up and face lift!!
I started my blog in Feb 2009 and over the last 5 years the labels have gone a bit hay-wire! So today I have removed all labels form 500 odd posts and also given it a bit of a tidy up on the home page and in the side bars - I still have the pages to tidy up but i am feeling much happier with it now!!
I have some projects to share over the next couple of days too to get me back in to the swing of things not to mention a freebie or 2!!
so I will see you in the week xx

Aged Gold Bird Mini Book - Using Fiskars Fuse Die Cutting Machine

This cute but oh-so-hard-to-photo mini book was made from die cuts, the cover is a die cut scalloped square - die cut and letter pressed on the fuse machine using some gold card i found in my paper drawers, I have no idea where it was from there were just 2 lone sheets of it! I wish i had more as it had a worn / crackled look to it!
the bird is cut and letter-pressed from the same gold card and some black ink rubbed over it to bring out the gold crackle look!
the pages were just some kraft paper folded into zigzags and stuck to the covers
definitely not the easiest to photo but if you are at the NEC in Mark or Ali Pali in April i will have it on my samples tree!
